NEW school council nominations

Posted by Miss Whalley | Posted in General News | Posted on 06-09-2016

Well, it is that time of year again – the nominations of our new school councillors.  Representing your class on the School Council is a privilege and a very important job. This year the meetings will be held during the school day. The day and time may change and they will not be weekly. I will let the school council know when the meetings are going to be.

Below are the responsbilites of a school councillor.

Responsibilities

  • To attend school council meetings regularly
  • To be punctual and arrive on time
  • To put forward ideas and make decisions
  • To bring ideas from your class and share them
  • To be a positive role model to others
  • To be able to communicate ideas from the meeting with the rest of the class

When writing your speech think about ways that you can show each of these qualities. Also look at the TOP TIPS from the old school councillors they may help!!

When listening to the speeches you should think about who shows the qualities above. Remember you should NOT vote for someone just because they are your friend.

Good luck with your speeches and I look forward to meeting the new school councillors soon.
